It's well known that law enforcement officials in Pennsylvania devote significant resources to their efforts to arrest people in possession of child pornography.

This was again made clear last week when authorities announced the arrests of two Delaware men in an investigation that began with Pennsylvania Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

One man, 23 years old, faces 10 counts and the other man, 29 years old, faces eight counts as a result of the investigation, the Delaware Child Predator Task Force announced.

The 23-year-old was arrested after law enforcement authorities received the tip from Pennsylvania officials and after the state police received a call that there was a domestic disturbance in the house where the suspect lives.

Police arrived at the home and were told that the suspect and another person had been in a heated argument over the alleged presence of child pornography on a computer the two shared. The suspect had left the house before police arrived.

Officers took possession of the computer and reportedly discovered child porn files on it.

The suspect was later arrested and charged. He's being held in lieu of posting a $100,000 bail.

The arrest of the second man came a day later. It was also the result of investigators scouring the internet in a search for child porn.

The man's home was searched and computers were seized there, along with digital media prosecutors say had "numerous files containing child pornography."

The reality of the situation for these men and for those charged in the Pittsburgh area with these offenses is that they can potentially spend years of their lives in prison if they're convicted on the charges. They should immediately discuss their options with a criminal defense attorney who has successfully negotiated with prosecutors and successfully taken cases to trial.
